Sunny blue skies on Wednesday afternoon and no rain on the horizon which is always a bonus in Scotland.

Capitaine de Hus Z (Alvin) was third into the arena early on Thursday morning and produced a lovely flowing test which was error free to take the early lead with a score of 28.4.  Jonelle thought it his best test to date and she was delighted with him and he is proving to be ever more reliable in the arena.

Chilli’s Midnight Star (Ollie) had to wait until Friday morning for his shot at the test.  The dressage arenas are beside each other which is nice for the horses but they start and finish tests at different times so it was good to see Ollie unphased when there was some excited clapping for a 1 star test that was deemed cool by the next door supporters.   Ollie did some lovely work and if the changes had been a little smoother he could have vied with his stable mate for the lead but they are still at the slightly dramatic stage and with double marks for them in this test that’s expensive.

Alvin held the lead all the way through the class and remains the only horse in the 20’s.  Ollie sits on 33.1 in joint 8th which is not too shabby by any means and Jonelle was really happy with his work.

Scone certainly seems to be ticking all the boxes for the owners with a great drinks party, entertainment on tap and lots of fun. The Palace is a fabulous backdrop and everyone seems very happy with this new venue.

Cross country starts at 12.20 BST tomorrow and plenty to do for the 4 Long horses.  Live stream on
