The crew arrived yesterday morning in France at Chaumont-en-Vexin, otherwise known as ‘Royal Jump’, a newish venue about an hour north of Paris and it is a real mixed bag of horses based on experience that are there this week for sure.
From 3*S first timers Faerie Good Golly (Golly) and The Highlander (Ivar) to Gloire de Marchenval (Louis) who is having his second crack at the level to experienced 4*Long horses Chio 20, Capitaine de Hus Z (Alvin) and Chilli’s Midnight Star (Ollie). Cosby Green also has Cooley Seeing Magic (Guthrie) in the 4*Short and MBF Party Time in the 2Long so it’s a decent Chedington crew sitting in the French sunshine tonight.
Its not that usual for the short classes to have a 1st horse inspection but they do here and as you can see from the lead photo (courtesy of James Good) the 3*S crew all passed with flying colours. Twm has Golly, Louella has Ivar and owner Rachel Good has Louis who all passed with flying colours.

It’s actually the first foray offshore in the horsebox for Team Price in 2025 which is also a first for the end of May. It’s half term in the UK so it is a full on family outing and hopefully the sun will shine and everyone will have a great week. It’s the land of snails, frogs and rosé and, apparently, Golf has been added to that National list of Pride of France.
