Sunshine all the way for the jog at Kentucky on Wednesday lunchtime and both Global Quest (George) and Vitali sparkled their way down the strip, coats gleaming and looking absolute pictures.  George was the utter professional whilst Vitali, who has history in this phase (pictured above at Burghley), looked more like a mustang than an established 5 star eventer. He knocked Tim onto the wrong side of the flowers that lined the strip, circled him instead of standing, barged into Tim’s body and generally acted the brat whilst managing to show some fabulous medium trot strides in between.  In a way it is no bad thing as it shows that he is right on form!

Hats off to Jess for having them look so good and with such a long journey to Kentucky it’s always good to get that phase out of the way.  Vitali and George left Chedington on Wednesday 15th April, flew that evening, landed in Cincinnati, spent a couple of days in quarantine where they were hand walked daily inside the barns by the grooms and rocked up to the Kentucky horse park in fine fettle on Saturday.  The contingent from Europe are stabled separately from the USA horses and a big thank you from Pedens who upgraded George and Vitali into wide stalls which is the equine equivalent of Business Class!

All the action is live on Clip My Horse TV.  George is third out on Thursday at 1.46 local time and Vitali goes on Friday at 2.54 local time. Fingers crossed its a great week for all of them.
