Lead photo….Tim, Carlos and Jesse at Burghley, definitely not a Cornbury 5 year old champs photo!
Just Supplejack left for Tim today and a sticky surface to showjump on for a 5 year old fresh out of racing. 3 rails was not unusual and fair play to Jack for dealing with his first main arena with such confidence.
A long old wait until they went cross country some 7 hours later and the weather Gods had thrown everything at Cornbury by that time. Sunshine, rain, thunderstorms, you name it, it happened. It was quite a grown up track and whilst very fair it was a proper challenge for the 5 year olds and Jack showed all his talent for the future with a foot perfect round for a fabulous clear to end the season on.
Jack hasn’t picked up a single fault cross country this year and has steadily improved his dressage scores. Yep, he’s had a few rails but having a second career at the age of 5 is not the norm in eventing and he’s just learning on the job. He can go and have a well deserved holiday now and Tim’s sights are now firmly set on the Autumn three days.
And quite the calendar it is. Blenheim 8/9 4 short next week swiftly followed by Strzegom, Boekelo and Pau with some 9 horses. Hang on crew, the fat lady is a way off singing in 2025.
