Perfect weather for horses at Bramham on Saturday.  Cool and breezy with the odd shower and some bits of sunshine and absolutely perfect footing both in the showjumping arena and the cross country.

Jonelle and Senor Crocodillo (Diego) jumped a super clear in the morning with Diego clearly relishing the conditions. That effort moved him up the leaderboard and it was a long old wait to go cross country in the afternoon.  The 4L ran first and there were a few dreams shattered in that class which, as always a Bramham, is fair but tough.

Diego and Jonelle set out with purpose and a clear intension to let the selectors know that she is ready and able for Aachen.  You don’t get to watch Jonelle go fast that often and when she does it is a masterclass in consummate cross country riding.  They zipped around the track and managed to come home with just 2.8 time without a single hairy moment and ended up in 5th which was a great way to finish the weekend.  Congratulations to fellow Kiwi Sam Lissington and Ricker Ridge Sooty GNZ who took the runner up slot with a great performance.   Diego coined  the third fastest time of the day  and now looks the finished deal and very much a confident and capable ‘big track’ horse so fingers crossed that Aachen beckons.

They sure looked like they deserved it today.
